Virginia’s Tourism Industry is a network of statewide businesses and tourism offices located in all urban and rural areas, including state and federal parks, private property and public areas⎯ from coastal bays and beaches to main street communities, farm country, mountains, rivers, lakes and beaches ⎯ each a KEY partner creating visitor tourism experiences.
Virginia travelers are ⎯ multi-generational families, couples, friends, groups including businesses, corporations, associations and sporting events ⎯ Domestic and International.
This includes all levels of lodging, dining, retail, attractions, parks, arenas and outdoor areas.
DMO ⏐ Destination Marketing / Management Organization
⦾ Local Tourism Offices are called Destination Marketing /or/ Management Organizations or DMOs
⦾ Local governments fund and staff Economic Development & Tourism offices to create strategic plans, marketing plans, events and offer business resources to support the local economy and businesses by welcoming visitors of all types to stay, enjoy, return and tell others to visit
⦾ Some localities form a Chamber of Commerce, who directs tourism for the locality
⦾ Others form regional Tourism Associations to leverage their marketing and spending power

The Sales Director is a relationship-driven sales professional skilled in crafting and selling elevated, premium, and unforgettable experiences. This role focuses solely on Atlantic Park Surf, driving revenue by selling private surf experiences, brand activations, and sponsorships at Atlantic Park Surf – North America’s first Wavegarden Cove surf lagoon and anchor attraction to the Atlantic Park entertainment district. This person must be experienced in event, group, or destination sales — ideally within action sports, recreation, hospitality, or resort‑style environments. This position has a competitive base with commission.
Guest Service Manager – Kingsmill Resort
Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg is hiring a full-time Guest Service Manager. This position is responsible for ensuring a seamless and memorable guest experience by overseeing the day-to-day operations of the front office department including front desk/guest services and bell services. Salary range is $55-65,000 plus a monthly incentive tied to guest service scores.
Director of Sales – Visit Alexandria
Visit Alexandria is the City of Alexandria’s not-for-profit destination marketing and management organization, promoting Alexandria, Virginia, as a premier destination for tourism and meetings. The Director of Sales enhances Alexandria’s position in the competitive tourism landscape by developing and executing sales strategies to capture both group meetings and travel trade opportunities. Our sales team consists of the Director plus two sales managers who report to the Director.
Visitor Services Assistant Manager – Visit Alexandria
Visit Alexandria is the City of Alexandria’s not-for-profit destination marketing and management organization, promoting Alexandria, Virginia, as a premier destination for tourism and meetings. The Visitor Services Assistant Manager leads the daily operations of the Alexandria Visitor Center and ensures the delivery of exceptional hospitality to every guest. This role manages frontline team members, oversees scheduling, merchandising, and financial transactions, and works closely with Visit Alexandria members to design engaging visitor experiences. Hiring range is $45-48,000.
Events Manager – The Montpelier Foundation
The Montpelier Foundation at James Madison’s Montpelier is hiring a full-time Events Manager. The Events Manager has responsibilities integral to the successful execution of the Foundation’s strategic plan through the management and planning of events that welcome and entertain guests both at Montpelier and off-site. This includes meeting the event needs and providing excellent service to all departments at Montpelier and to outside customers using the facilities and services. The Events Manager has a passion for special events, a strong administrative background, provides outstanding customer service, is an enthusiastic professional, and builds relationships with internal and external customers. The Virginia Air & Space Science Center/NASA Langley Visitor Center seeks an accomplished, visionary, and dynamic leader to serve as its next Executive Director. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Center, its staff, and volunteers; lead successful fundraising initiatives; and ensure the continued growth and enhancement of its exhibits, collections, and educational programming.
