Applications for new LOVEwork reimbursements have now closed.
The LOVEworks reimbursement program was established in 2013 as a state-wide branding initiative designed to promote travel to Virginia, strengthen the awareness of the “Virginia is for Lovers” brand, and generate organic promotion. Since then, we’ve seen more than 370 LOVEworks become staples in communities across the Commonwealth, a true testament to the message of love in Virginia and all of our participating partners. In short, this program has been a huge success!
The LOVEworks have become special places, not only for local communities, but also for travelers. People are drawn to the LOVE letters and often choose them as backdrops for profound life moments such as engagements, weddings, family photos, senior portraits, memorable road trips, and more.
Having accomplished our goals, and with much excitement, we are announcing a shift from reimbursement to marketing. We’ve built an amazing product over the past decade, and now it’s time to focus on putting that product in front of potential travelers and bringing even more attention to your locality.
We’ve put together a marketing plan for LOVEworks that commenced in July of 2024. That campaign has been added to our Brand Campaigns & Initiatives page for your resource. Please stay tuned for more updates as our phased approach progresses.

All currently approved applicants should know their LOVEwork reimbursements will be honored– no matter how long it takes them to complete the process.
If you or a business in your locality builds a LOVEwork after we’ve stopped accepting reimbursement applications, we’d still love to have you listed on Virginia.org and get you added to our LOVEworks Google Map. Please visit our LOVEworks listings page for details on how to get your LOVEwork listed on our website.
