Come to Virginia in August for musical days, county fairs, food festivals and a variety events guaranteed to full your passion for summer fun.

If you’re a Front Row Fanatic, hear Virginia’s Appalachian musicians and luthiers perform at the Makers and Players at the Blue Ridge Music Center in Galax; and tap your feet during the Fries Fiddlers’ Convention in the Blue Ridge Highlands. Swing your partner at the Sock Hop at Virginia Mountain Vineyards in Southern Virginia and during Bedford’s Sentimental Journey at the National D-Day Memorial. For more musical fun, don’t miss Yorktown’s “Shagging on the Riverwalk” Beach Music Concert, the Soul Music Beachfest in Virginia Beach, and the Carter Family Traditional Music Festival in the Heart of Appalachia.

If speed is your passion, check out the action on the world’s fastest half-mile track during Bristol August Race Week and at the Eastern Shore Motorcycle Rally. See the German marquee in action when the Porsche Club of America visits Southern Virginia. Drive back in time during Northern Virginia’s Summer Thunder Cruise In.
